MORE ABOUT ANDY
Andrew Fay has enjoyed a 35-year career in the financial services industry, including 20 plus years working in the family office market.
Andy was part of the hand-selected team that launched the family office business for Fidelity Investments – a top initiative for Ned Johnson when he himself experienced and identified the unique needs of families relying upon a single family office to solve for the complexities of its mission. Over an 18-year period, Andy designed and built the relationship management function, managed and expanded the business development team, and was head of the Fidelity Family Office Group.
During his tenure at Fidelity, he worked with hundreds of families seeking a clearer, more efficient, business-oriented path toward achieving their goals and solving their greatest pain points.
After leaving Fidelity to join The RMR Group as senior vice president, to oversee a new initiative to build a private capital program to help RMR diversify its capital sources, Andy returned to his roots both physically and professionally. In 2023, he relocated his family to Chatham, Ma, where he’d spent much of his life vacationing with family, and launched 1712 Consulting to continue his mission:
“Our mission is to help family office professionals and the advisors who serve them solve complex problems and accelerate initiatives to achieve a better client experience.”

Before leading the Fidelity family office business, Andy held roles at Bank Boston, FleetBoston Securities Corp., and Manufacturers Hanover Trust as a commercial lender, investment banker, and trading desk manager. Andy serves as an advisory board member of the UNWH Institute and Waldron Wealth Management. He earned his bachelor’s degree in government and French with a minor in economics from Bowdoin College and is a certified investment management analyst (CIMA®).
Andrew lives in North Chatham, MA, and enjoys sports of all types, travel, endurance challenges, and enjoying life on Cape Cod.
